Smart Choices for Advanced Collision Repair Equipment and Training
It is called by several names
D-EVO C-EVO Compact USwide Platform
You will find it on Jeep Grand Cherokee - Dodge Dart - Avenger - Honda Pilot - Nissan Pathfinder - Alpha- Chrysler 200
and more models are on the way
New technology OEMs have placed limits on pinch welds and require additional
points of anchoring on the frame, usually cradles, and jig anchoring is a must.
Many no longer allow using pinch welds.
Conventional frame equipment is obsolete and since the decks are not flat they pose a serious
concern by adapting a "fix" on a deck that can vary up to an inch. ( We can laser measure
your deck or just place a straight edge across the deck to measure flatness)
The solution is simple, INVEST in a universal machined fixture system, anchor the frame
without damage and make repairs. We recommend Car Bench and so do these fine folks
A growing list of OEM’s now prohibit anchoring their vehicles, for structural realignment, using pinch weld flanges.
Porsche, Audi, Volkswagen, BMW, Mercedes Benz, TESLA, Ferrari, Lamborghini, Aston Martin, Jaguar, Land Rover, and Rolls Royce do not allow using pinch weld anchoring and others like Honda now restrict the load forces that can be applied. New Fiat, Jeep, Chrysler models now use C-evo and D-evo (Compact USwide platforms) that require jig anchoring.
Shops need to invest to meet these changes.
Our highly rated Car Bench Universal Fixture Platform has earned practically all OEM certifications and is required exclusively for Lamborghini and Ferrari. Car Bench is a machined system that also measures to extreme accuracy so replacing structural components to their exacting position is easy and quickly done.
The reason for this requirement is that the lower rocker panel mating flanges (“pinch welds”) on these vehicles are weld-bonded and clamping in these areas will destroy the bond of the structural adhesive and may lead to a failure of the structural integrity of the vehicle in a subsequent collision event. Why take the risk?
